2012 Coding Webinar Series

Overview
The 2012 Coding Webinar Series will cover several aspects of procedural coding related to the practice of gynecologic oncology.  Each of the Webinars will address specific topics that will examine all the coding requirement needs for the major components of gynecologic oncology treatment including:    

  • Coding for Common Surgical Procedures
  • Global Surgical Package with Modifiers
  • Evaluation and Management Coding
  • Annual Coding and Reimbursement Update with a preview of ICD-10

Overall Goal: The goal of this webinar series is for participants to become familiar with several aspects of coding covering all procedural coding related to the practice of gynecologic oncology.

After Participating in this Webinar Series Learners will be able to:

  • Identify appropriate codes for E/M and surgical procedures
  • Recognize the components of the CPT and Medicare global packages
  • Recognize the impact of modifiers on reimbursement
  • Identify codes for new and evolving procedures

Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)

The Society of Gynecologic Oncology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education to physicians.  SGO designates the Coding Webinar Series for a maximum of 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credits commensurate with the extent of their participation in the Coding Course.  This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Elements of the ACCME.

American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA)

This program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 6.0 hours of AAPA Category I CME credit by the Physician Assistant Review Panel. Physician assistants should claim only those hours actually spent participating in the CME activity.  This program was planned in accordance with AAPA’s CME Standards for Live Programs and for Commercial Support of Live Programs.

American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)

This program has the prior approval of AAPC for 6.0 continuing education hours. Granting of prior approval in no way constitutes endorsement by AAPC of the program content or the program sponsor.

Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)

This educational activity has been approved for 6.0 contact hours.This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Oncology Nursing Society, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
