SGO CME/CE Mission Statement

The Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) is a national medical specialty society for health care providers trained in the comprehensive management of women’s cancers. The society was initially developed for gynecologic oncologists – obstetrician/gynecologists with three to four years of additional, intensive training in the specific study of gynecologic cancers. The Society expanded its membership to include medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, nurses, social workers, scientists, pathologists and allied health care professionals interested in the treatment and care of women’s cancer. This comprehensive inclusion of other professionals committed to women’s cancer healthcare enhances SGO members’ ability to provide superior multidisciplinary cancer treatment including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery and supportive care.

SGO fosters collaboration among our Members and their colleagues to advance the overall care of women with gynecologic cancer and to eradicate all women’s cancers and the suffering from these cancers.
