Annual Meeting > Continuing Education Credits
The Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) to physicians. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Elements of the ACCME. SGO does not offer CME for any of the Industry Supported Symposia and does not constitute endorsement by The Society of Gynecologic Oncology of the information, products or services contained therein.
ACCME accreditation is the mark of quality CME activities that are planned, implemented and evaluated in accordance with ACCME policies. SGO has earned full four-year accreditation from the ACCME. Acquiring this status ensures that SGO’s educational activities and products are free of commercial bias and based on valid content. Activities that are designated with CME credit assure the medical community and the public that such activities provide physicians with information that can assist them in maintaining or improving their practice of medicine. An important element of ACCME compliance is disclosing and resolving any potential conflicts of interest between a presenter and a corporate entity. SGO Council/Board-approved policies state that all individuals participating in a CME activity must disclose any financial relationships that may pose a conflict of interest. All conflicts will be resolved through a mechanism included in SGO’s Conflict of Interest Resolution Policy. Protecting and maintaining SGO’s accreditation status is vital for the continued success of SGO’s educational offerings. Activities and products with CME attached equate to a fair and balanced educational experience.
