The Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) is the premier source for gynecologic oncology education. Several meetings are hosted by SGO throughout the year for professional development.

SGO has 2,700 members representing the entire gynecologic oncology team in the United States and abroad. Members include primarily gynecologic oncologists, as well as medical oncologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, hematologists, surgical oncologists, obstetrician/gynecologists, nurses, physician assistants, social workers, fellows-in-training, residents and other allied health care professionals interested in the treatment and care of women’s cancer.

SGO members provide multidisciplinary cancer treatment including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery and supportive care. They practice in a variety of settings, including academic institutions and hospitals, major regional cancer centers and private practice.

The SGO Winter Meeting brings together researchers at every stage of their careers through specialized scientific sessions, informative posters, and captivating networking gatherings, alongside the chance to engage in exhilarating winter and wellness activities, combining both a leisurely getaway and a platform for professional growth, its relaxed and close-knit ambiance, gives attendees an exceptional opportunity to establish connections with established leaders in the field.

The SGO Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer is the foremost educational and scientific gathering for professionals dedicated to the treatment and care of individuals with gynecologic cancer. The meeting attracts a diverse array of specialists involved in gynecologic cancer care, research, and policy. Attendees include gynecologic, medical, and radiation oncologists, pathologists, obstetricians/gynecologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, fellows-in-training, residents, medical students, and patient advocates.

The SGO Allied Health Professionals Meeting is specially designed for nurse practitioners and physician assistants/physician associates, along with other members of the gynecologic oncology care team, including physicians, registered nurses and pharmacists.

The SGO partners with Intuitive Surgical annually to offer Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) workshops for fellows looking to advance their robotic surgical knowledge. Participants gain hands-on experience and learn techniques, tips, and troubleshooting tricks for clinical applications in gynecologic oncology. To maximize the course’s impact, fellows are encouraged to attend with a surgical mentor to provide mentorship in that setting.
