Physician and teaching hospital CMS registration begins June 1

On June 1, physicians and teaching hospital representatives will be able to begin registration in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Enterprise Portal. As part of Open Payments, physicians and teaching hospitals can register with CMS to review information about payments or other transfers of value given to them by the industry prior to public posting of the data.

Physicians and teaching hospitals that choose to participate will need to initially register in CMS’ Enterprise Portal (the gateway to CMS’ Enterprise Management system) in order to access and review the information submitted about them by the industry. As a part of this overall process, registered users will be able to dispute information with industry that they believe to be inaccurate or incomplete.

An MLN Connects™ National Provider Call with CMS experts has been scheduled for Thursday, June 12, from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Click here to learn more about this call and to register. Additional information on Open Payments (also known as the Physician Payments Sunshine Act) is also available at CMS.gov.
