Social Media Policies and Procedures
To provide clear guidance for SGO members when they make posts on social media related to the Society of Gynecologic Oncology.
1.0 Members of SGO who participate in social media should refrain from sharing confidential or proprietary information about SGO.
2.0 STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES
2.0 If your connection to SGO is apparent in public communication on the Internet or in social media make it clear that you are speaking for yourself and not on behalf of the SGO.
2.1 Consider a disclaimer such as “views expressed are my own and do not reflect the views of the SGO.”
2.2 Public communication on the Internet about SGO or SGO-related matters should include your connection to SGO and your role within the organization.
3.0 Unless approved by the SGO board, your social media name, handle and/or URL should not include the SGO’s name or logo.
