SGO 18th Annual Winter Meeting: New Paradigms in Gynecologic Oncology

Feb. 7-9, 2013
Westin Riverfront, Avon, CO

This three-day course offers clinicians a collegial environment to discuss current issues in treating women with gynecologic cancers. Topics include the effects of obesity on treatment, use of supportive and palliative care, latest developments in translational science and a discussion on quality healthcare and how current legislation in the United States affects practice. A tumor board session will also take place where practitioners can apply knowledge directly to cases presented. This course is ideal for new and experienced physicians alike, as well as all members of the gynecologic cancer care team.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of the course, learners will be able to:

1. Outline potential intraoperative management of the obese patient including open and minimally invasive

2. Assess use of supportive care approaches in treatment of gynecologic cancer

  • Discuss latest molecular findings affecting responses to targeted therapy

3. Apply various treatment strategies to clinical scenarios

  • Describe quality measures and the impact of current US healthcare reform movements.

Target Audience: Gynecologic Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Ob/Gyn’s and Allied Health Care Professionals involved in the care of patients who have gynecologic Cancers.
