Personal Statement
I am the Division Director of Gynecologic Oncology at the Stephenson Cancer Center, University of Oklahoma/OU Health. I have served the SGO in a variety of ways since completing fellowship at The Ohio State. I was honored to be elected to the Board of Directors for SGO in 2023 for 3 years and participated in developing the new SGO strategic plan. As a board member, I have been the liaison to the Wellness Committee, the Winter Meeting and the Education Committee. I was a member of the Clinical Practice and Publications Committees and was the SGO liaison to ACOG Committee on Gynecologic Practice for 3 years. I was honored to have been a program committee member for the 2016 annual meeting, and a steering committee member for the 2025 annual meeting. I was a member of the board of directors for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition for 10 years and served as the Vice President for 2 terms lasting 6 years. Through this service, I have experience with strategic planning and reviewing the annual budget, which grew by 2+ million dollars during my service. I also was the Vice President of Western Association of Gynecologic Oncology from 2023-2024 and then was re-elected as a member at large in 2025.
I would love to serve the SGO as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors. I am very committed to providing good financial stewardship of our society, collaborating on the annual budget, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. I will continue to advocate for sufficient research funding for gynecologic cancers and the ability for physicians and APPs to deliver safe and effective care to their patients in these challenging times. My goal is that SGO remains the leading society serving people dedicated to improving the lives affected by gynecologic cancers.
