Who Can Submit a Nomination?
SGO members are eligible to submit nominations for all awards. We encourage thoughtful nominations that highlight meaningful achievements and lasting influence.
Who Is Eligible?
Each Leadership Award has its own eligibility requirements and selection criteria. Before beginning a nomination, review the award descriptions to determine which honor best aligns with your nominee’s accomplishments.
Nomination Process
Step 1 — Select the Appropriate Award
Review the award descriptions and choose the category that best reflects your nominee’s contributions.
Step 2 — Complete the Nomination Form
Provide information about your nominee and describe the impact of their work. Nominators may submit up to seven nominations using the same submission form.
Step 3 — Submit Before the Deadline
Complete and submit your nomination by October 5, 2026.
Tips for a Strong Nomination
The strongest nominations go beyond listing accomplishments. They tell the story of a nominee’s impact. Please keep statements to 300 words or less.
Consider including:
- Specific examples of leadership, innovation, or service.
- Measurable outcomes or lasting contributions.
- The nominee’s influence on patients, colleagues, trainees, or the field.
- Why their work is especially deserving of recognition through this award.
