Personal Statement
I am seeking the opportunity to serve on the SGO Board of Directors to help guide our society through an unprecedented time in women’s health and professional evolution. The practice environment for gynecologic oncology is changing rapidly—access to early gynecologic care is shrinking, our workforce is under pressure to do more with less, and our patients are presenting with more advanced disease. I want to contribute my voice and experience to ensure that SGO remains a strong advocate for both our members and the individuals we serve. My leadership experience spans clinical, institutional, and national levels. As a practicing gynecologic oncologist and clinical investigator, I have led multidisciplinary teams focused on improving outcomes through innovation, mentorship, and equity. Within SGO, I have worked to advance clinical trials access, promote inclusion in leadership, and strengthen collaboration across institutions. I bring strategic thinking, collaborative energy, and a commitment to transparent communication—qualities essential for board service in a complex and evolving landscape. My vision for SGO is of a society that is inclusive, fiscally strong, and unafraid to lead on issues of access, advocacy, and equity. We must continue to elevate the recognition and reimbursement of gynecologic oncologists, support members at every career stage, and ensure that our policies and culture reflect the diversity of our community. SGO should serve as both a professional home and a public voice for the specialty—defending early access to gynecologic cancer care, advancing research that improves the lifespan, and fostering a culture where all members feel heard and valued. I would be honored to serve in this mission and to work alongside colleagues dedicated to the future of gynecologic oncology.
