Personal Statement

I am honored to submit my candidacy for the SGO Board of Directors. As a dedicated gynecologic oncologist and academic physician, I am deeply committed to advancing our subspecialty and supporting the diverse needs of our membership. I believe that SGO is uniquely positioned to lead the future of cancer care through innovation, advocacy, and inclusion. Throughout my career, I have held multiple leadership roles that have shaped my collaborative and strategic approach. I have served as a clinical program director, led multidisciplinary initiatives to improve patient outcomes, and mentored trainees across levels. I have the benefit of having served both at academic and private setting and back in an academic environment. These experiences have taught me the importance of listening, building consensus, and driving change through thoughtful action. I bring a strong understanding of academic medicine, clinical operations, and the challenges facing our workforce—including burnout, compensation equity, and the need for continuous education. My vision for SGO is one of bold leadership and inclusive growth. I aim to strengthen our advocacy efforts, expand wellness and mentorship programs, and promote equitable access to care and research opportunities. I am particularly passionate about supporting early-career members and amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups within our Society. As a Board member, I will work to ensure that SGO remains a dynamic, responsive, and forward-thinking organization. I am committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity within SGO. By addressing these challenges head-on, we can ensure that our Society not only adapts to the evolving landscape but leads it—empowering our members and improving outcomes for the patients we serve.
